Teen Patti Sequence List (Highest to Lowest)

This is the standard order used in almost every casual game and teen patti app. Anything higher on the list beats everything below it - memorise these six rows and you will never misread a showdown again.

Teen Patti hand ranking, highest to lowest
RankHandWhat it isExampleWhy it matters
1 Trail (Trio / Set) Three cards of the same rank A-A-A The strongest hand in the game and the rarest to hold. A-A-A is the best trail, 2-2-2 the weakest.
2 Pure Sequence Three cards in a row, all in the same suit 8-9-10 hearts Beats a plain sequence and a color. This is the one rule newcomers get wrong most often.
3 Sequence (Run) Three cards in a row, mixed suits 9 spades, 10 hearts, J diamonds The same shape as a pure sequence, but the mixed suits drop it one full rank.
4 Color (Flush) Three cards of one suit, not in a row 3 hearts, 5 hearts, K hearts One suit only. Compare the highest card, then the next, then the third.
5 Pair (Jodi) Two cards of the same rank plus a kicker 9 spades, 9 hearts, K clubs Higher pairs win. If the pairs match, the kicker decides the pot.
6 High Card No combination at all A spades, 7 clubs, 4 diamonds The single highest card wins, then the next, then the third. Ace-high is the strongest.

What Is a Pure Sequence in 3 Patti?

A pure sequence in 3 patti is three consecutive cards that all sit in the same suit, such as 8-9-10 of hearts. Some players call it a pakki run. The key point is that it outranks both a plain sequence (consecutive but mixed suits) and a color (same suit but not consecutive), so 6 spades, 7 spades and 8 spades beat any color you are holding.

Same three numbers in one suit is a pure sequence, rank 2. The same three numbers in mixed suits is a plain sequence, rank 3. The only difference is the suit, and it is worth a full rank at the table.

A-K-Q vs A-2-3: Which Sequence Is Higher?

A-K-Q is the highest sequence in 3 patti, whether it is pure or plain. A-2-3 is usually the second highest, because the ace counts low in that run, and 2-3-4 is the lowest possible sequence. The ace works at both ends of the order, but it cannot wrap around the corner, so K-A-2 is not a valid run.

  • A-K-Q is the highest sequence (pure or plain).
  • A-2-3 is usually the second highest and outranks K-Q-J.
  • 2-3-4 is the lowest possible sequence.

A handful of tables rank A-2-3 as the highest run instead. Agree on it before the deal and the argument never comes up.

Which Is Bigger, Trail or Sequence in 3 Patti?

A trail beats a sequence. A trail is three cards of the same rank, so A-A-A, and it is the strongest hand in 3 patti. A pure sequence is next, then a plain sequence, then a color, then a pair, and a high card is the weakest of all. Plenty of beginners assume a color beats a sequence because one suit looks stronger. It does not.

Pure Sequence beats Sequence beats Color. Lock that order in before you risk any real chips.

What Are the Different Sequences in 3 Patti?

There are twelve possible runs in 3 patti once you fix the ace, and each one is a three-card sequence: A-2-3, 2-3-4, 3-4-5, 4-5-6, 5-6-7, 6-7-8, 7-8-9, 8-9-10, 9-10-J, 10-J-Q, J-Q-K and Q-K-A. A sequence is only a sequence when the three cards are consecutive in value, in any combination of suits.

Whether the run is pure (one suit) or plain (mixed suits) decides the rank, not whether it counts as a sequence at all.

How Ties Are Broken in 3 Patti

When two players hold the same type of hand, 3 patti compares the card values inside it. Two trails settle on the rank, so A-A-A beats K-K-K. Two sequences settle on the top card, so A-K-Q beats Q-J-10. Two colors compare the highest card, then the second, then the third. Two pairs compare the pair first and the kicker second. Two high cards compare card by card.

  • Two Trails: higher rank wins, so A-A-A beats K-K-K.
  • Two Sequences: compare the top card, so A-K-Q beats Q-J-10.
  • Two Colors: compare the highest card, then the second, then the third.
  • Two Pairs: higher pair wins, and the kicker decides if the pairs match.
  • Two High Cards: highest single card wins, then the next, then the third.

3 Patti, Teen Patti, Flash — Same Sequence List

One reason searchers get confused is that the same game is spelled and branded a dozen ways. 3 Patti, Teen Patti, Teen Patti Gold and the old British name Flash all use the identical ranking order, so a hand that beats another in one app beats it in every other. The rules never changed between the names, only the packaging did.
